Egg Drop Challenge
Students explore design and manufacturing concepts by designing, building, testing, improving, and executing a device to protect an egg from breaking when dropped from a minimum height.
Time: 90 minutes; implemented in one session
Materials:
- Computer with projector, speakers, and Internet access (for videos listed in the activity)

- Student Handouts (1 per student) 
- Pen or pencil (1 per student) 
- Hand wipes or paper towels for cleanup 
- Additional supplies: - 20 sponges 
- 36 straws 
- 2 bags of cotton balls 
- 50 pipe cleaners 
- 20 pieces of paper 
- 5 rolls of clear or masking tape 
- 5 balls of string 
- 2 bags of large marshmallows 
- 10 uncooked eggs
